Except for basic texts, responsibility for selection of instructional materials is delegated to the professional employees of the district. For purposes of this policy the book, group of books, or set of instructional materials that serve as the foundation for fifty percent or more of the course content shall be defined as the "basic text."
The criteria for the selection and adoption of supplementary materials will be the same as the textbook criteria.
