Hyde Park Central School District

Students attending nonpublic schools shall be provided transportation services in accordance with the provisions of Education Law and the Commissioner's Regulations regarding eligibility, bus pick-up points, school to which transportation is required, etc.

In order to be assured transportation to a nonpublic school, parents of eligible students or their authorized representatives must submit a written request for transportation to the Board of Education each year not later than April 1 preceding the beginning of the school year for which transportation is desired.

Families that move into the district after April 1st must request transportation for the next school year within 30 days after establishing residence in the district. Each year thereafter, requests must be submitted prior to the April 1st deadline. No late request shall be denied when a reasonable explanation is provided.

The Superintendent or designee is authorized to approve transportation for students attending nonpublic schools for whom written requests are received after the deadline, providing that there will be no additional cost to the district.
