4th Grade Field Trip to Bard Rock - October 10, 2006

Hudson River Study

As part of our science curriculum for fourth grade, we have developed a study of the ecology of the Hudson River. Fourth graders take a scientific look at the relationships between the river and its plants and animals. The fourth graders at Hyde Park Elementary went on a walking field trip to Bard Rock at the Vanderbilt Estate. We collected water and macro-invertebrate samples from the Hudson River. We then returned to school and studied the samples for several days in the classroom. As you can see, we had lots of fun!
