Dear HPE families,

Welcome back to school! We are looking forward to seeing all those open smiling faces! The building has been cleaned from top to bottom and we have some new teachers joining us. As many of you know, we also have some teachers who have taken the opportunity to try a new grade level! We are very excited about these changes!

Ms. Burkhalter has left T-1 and moved to join Ms. Haass in fifth grade. Mrs. Rigothi (now Ms. Turletes) has moved to T-1. Mrs. Ramsey has moved from fourth grade to partner with Ms. Manfredo in kindergarten. And Mr. Yannaco has come to us from Ralph R. Smith and will be joining Mr. Gasparini in fourth grade. In addition, Mrs. Danner moved to HPE from North Park as our new reading teacher and will follow up on the work that Mrs. Jaeger and Mrs. Richardson have done. Christopher Valle is our new string teacher – we will share him with Haviland Middle School. Finally, Mrs. Hoying has been hired as our new Resource Room teacher. She will be working fulltime with Mrs. Sternberg.

There will also be some movement in the Teaching Assistant, monitor and One-to-One ranks. Some people have moved to different classrooms. We also have a new Library Teaching Assistant – Kristen Attanasio, who is a certified teacher, will be joining Mrs. Makowicki in the library.

I know everyone will give a warm welcome to all our new staff members. I am delighted with the movement in the building, it will keep us all fresh and inspired, I’m sure!
