Principal’s Note
Richard Wert-  NES Principal

Our purpose at Netherwood Elementary is to create a positive school community where everyone is motivated to succeed, encouraged to excel, and respected as individuals.

Thank you for visiting Netherwood’s website. Please take a few moments to browse through the information and pictures posted here, and learn more about our school community. Many of our teachers have websites dedicated to their classrooms and the many special activities they host throughout the year.

Netherwood Elementary is a community-based school, and a part of the Hyde Park Central School District. There are approximately 65 staff members working with nearly 400 students at our beautiful 23-acre campus.
As a k-5 building, we welcome our youngest students with open arms, and help them to grow over the years into independent, creative, and respectful members of the community. Our focus on the academic and social learning curriculum has helped our students to reach their individual academic, social and emotional potential.

Parental support is a key ingredient for a child's success in school. School staff members use one-to-one conferences, newsletters and phone calls to keep parents informed. Parents can strengthen this home-school communication by contacting the school with questions or concerns, as well. Additionally, there are numerous ways for parents to become involved at Netherwood. Teachers are frequently looking for volunteers to help with events and activities. The Netherwood PTA is a highly active and dedicated group of adults committed to providing the best possible learning environment and experiences for our students - more information about the PTA can be found on this website.

Thank you for your support. Please stay involved with your child's education. Together, we can make a difference! By working together as parents, teachers, and staff, we can provide a rich, meaningful learning experience for the students of Netherwood.

Go Netherwood!

-When you enter the building please make you first stop at the main office. A visitor's badge is required when in the building.

-Dismissal begins at 3:35pm If you need to pick up your child, the sign-out sheet is in the main lobby.

-Many teachers ask for parent volunteers. Be sure to talk with your child's teacher if you would like to work in the classroom. All visits with the teachers need to be pre-arranged. Keep in mind that our special area teachers sometimes look for volunteers as well.
