SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2008

CONGRATULATIONS SUMMER READERS!

“Catch the Reading Bug”

Netherwood Elementary School is encouraging all our students to read this summer. This year Mr. Wert has again pledged to do the ZIP line in front of the whole school if we get as many as 150 students participating! We strongly encourage all our students and parents to participate in any of the following ways:

• Your public library summer reading program. (The list of local libraries is included below.)
• A parent signed list of 8 picture books or 4 chapter books read (or equivalent)
• Any public or commercial reading program (such as Barnes and Noble)

Just hand in your book list or proof of participation to your classroom teacher in September. Finally, if you would like to be part of a special school display, have someone take a picture of you reading, alone or with others (Mom, Dad, your pet, your Teddy bear) and we’ll make sure your photo is included! Those students participating will be recognized at a special summer reading assembly in the fall, receive a free book and a homework pass for next year! Enjoy your summer and have fun READING!
