We have reached our goal! All 100 bags of books are now available!
To current members of the Book Project, please borrow the bags! We have many bags available that have never gone out.
To other K-1 parents, please sign up for the project. It is free and there are many wonderful books available to enjoy with your children.

Violet Avenue School is beginning the 1,000 Book Project. This goal of this program is to give a convenient way to make quality literature available to busy families at no cost.
We know that the literacy skills students need to be successful in school begin at home. By giving parents easy access to these books, we hope to help children develop a bond with reading and books that will last forever.
In addition, we hope to foster strong relationships between parents, students and the school.
The 1000 Book Kid Club will provide 100 bags, each containing 10 children's books. Families who participate borrow the bag for a week and share the books with their preschool and primary grade children. Then, they return the bag, do some simple record keeping and borrow a new bag. After reading 100 bags of books, a child becomes a "1000 Book Kid".
