2005 Graduation Details
GOWNS & INVITATIONS:
These should have been ordered by now; if you have not ordered a gown yet, please contact Ms. Craft in the Assistant Principal’s office. Caps and gowns will be distributed to the students on Friday, June 24 immediately following rehearsal.
TICKETS:
Tickets for the graduation ceremony will be distributed after rehearsal on Friday. Enclosed with each student’s cap and gown is a green envelope with 4 tickets and an index card with the graduates name. Each student MUST carry this card with them Saturday morning.
GRADUATION DAY
Our students’ high school graduation is the culmination of many years of work by our students.
I am asking for all parents’ help in assuring that this is a dignified ceremony. I would appreciate your support of our school rules and policies.
REHEARSAL:
Our rehearsal will be on FRIDAY, JUNE 24 promptly at 11am. The length of time for rehearsal depends on how cooperative everyone is! Tickets will be distributed after rehearsal.
CEREMONY:
SATURDAY JUNE 25 --- 10:00 AM
GRADUATES MUST BE HERE NO LATER THAN 9:30 AM!
Outside graduation -- report to gym
Indoor graduation -- report to main lobby
The ceremony will start at 10:00 AM. It will be held on the football field, unless there is inclement weather (in which case we will move into the gym).
TICKETS:
Each student will receive four tickets.
Outdoor ceremony:
The seating area will ‘open’ at 9:15 AM for ticket holders only. At 9:50 AM, all people wishing to see the graduation ceremony will be admitted to fill the remaining bleacher seats. People with handicapping conditions who are unable to climb the bleacher steps may bring a lawn chair and sit at ground level in front of the bleachers. There will be absolutely no seating on the track area.
Indoor ceremony:
The gym will open at 9:15 AM for ticket holders only. All others wishing to view the ceremony may go to the auditorium and view a simulcast there. This may be a better option for those who have difficulty sitting in the bleachers in the gym, as the seats in the auditorium are more comfortable.
ATTIRE:
All students are to wear their cap and ironed gown for the ceremony, with appropriate attire beneath. All students will be checked to be sure that no inappropriate items are brought into the ceremony, which will include opening the graduation robes. All students must have footwear on their feet. Sunglasses are not to be worn by students when proceeding to their seats nor when receiving their diploma. There are to be no bizarre accessories worn with the cap and gown. Males must wear dress pants and dress shoes.
VIDEOS & CAMERAS:
Videotaping and still photography are allowed, but please be mindful of those around you.
PICTURES:
There will be a professional photographer who will take each student’s picture as s/he receives her/his diploma. The choice to purchase these pictures is yours. Forms will be in the main office.
RECEPTION:
Following the graduation ceremony, there will be a reception sponsored by the FDR PTSA and NHS for all graduates and their guests. If the ceremony is outdoors, the reception will be under the big tent. If it is indoors, we will be in the cafeteria.
Thank you for your help and support.
